Let's dive into more detail.

What is CBD Vape Oil?

Before I dive into answering the question what does vape oil do, we need to clear something up. CBD vape oil is an eliquid, not an oil. But just to confuse things, the terms CBD vape oil is used interchangeably with CBD eliquid and CBD vape juice.

It is certainly not to be confused with the oil drops you can buy. These are different substances and one (the oil) isn’t designed to be inhaled.

Now we have got that cleared up and we are confident you aren’t going to vape CBD oil, let’s look at what CBD vape oil does.

What does CBD vape oil do?

CBD has been around for quite literally thousands of years. Natural remedies are nothing new, but lately people have woken up to the potential benefits of a dose of cannabinoids - and not the ones that get you high as a kite.

You might have heard different things about this product, maybe your mate swears by it for their back pain and your other mate says it settles their anxiety. Then you read online that there’s even research looking into its potential to shrink tumors and elevate your mood. How can one product do such a broad range of things?

It may seem like CBD can do anything, except wash the dishes, which might leave you skeptical. BUT, there is actual research. Most trials have been done on animal models and small groups of humans, but still, there are studies into it, plus heaps of anecdotal evidence from people sharing their CBD experiences with the world.

Examples of CBD vape oil therapeutic benefits

Here are a few things that CBD vape oil may do

  • Reduce anxiety

Studies in both animals and humans have shown anti anxiety effects of CBD. One double blind, placebo study involved thirty seven 18-19 year old Japanese teens with SAD and avoidant personality disorder.

The group received 300mg CBD or a placebo daily for 4 weeks. SAD symptoms were measured at the start and end of the treatment period. CBD significantly reduced the anxiety in both of the scales measured. This indicated that CBD was a good option for the condition.

Another study writes:

“We found that existing pre-clinical evidence strongly supports CBD as a treatment for generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder when administered acutely; however, few studies have investigated chronic CBD dosing [1]

In our experience, one of the most popular reasons to use this cannabinoid is for anxiety.

  • Reduce seizures

Research has been thorough in this area, showing that CBD actively reduces or blocks convulsions in rodents. Other research has found that epilectic patients who took a dose of 200-300mg of CBD a day had fewer seizures.

The FDA approved a low THC and high CBD based medication Eppinox designed for Dravet and Lennox-Gastaut syndromes, which is now easier than ever for Doctors to prescribe.

CBD had been so effective as an anticonvulsant for one girl named Charlotte Figi, that  the low THC and high CBD strain of cannabis was named Charlottes Web after her. Using the cannabinoid reduced her seizures from 1200 a month to just a couple.

This was a massive success story and great news for those who suffer from seizures.

  • Anti tumor

Research has been laboratory research and has had mixed results, so it couldn’t be certain that CBD vape oil could help with cancer. However, results from tests have shown cannabinoids can cause cell death, block cell growth and stop the development of blood vessels which tumors need to grow - you can read more into this on the Cancer Research website.

  • Anti sickness

Sickness may be caused by cancer treatment or another long term illness. You’d be interested to know that there are actually anti sickness medications which contain a man made version of cannabis. Now, that sounds promising!

  • Reduce pain and inflammation

The way in which CBD helps to reduce pain and inflammation is ongoing. However, people swear by the cannabinoid for conditions such as back pain, arthritis, fibromyalgia, joint pain and muscle aches. Research points to how CBD interacts with the Endocannabnoid system and receptors in the human brain and immune system. These receptors receive chemical signals to help your body respond. This cell response may help to reduce inflammation and pain in the body.

  • Improve sleep

If you are searching what does CBD vape oil does and you struggle to get to sleep and stay asleep, then we think you’ll like this one. CBD is thought to half calming effects which may help you to wind down. If you are someone who can’t switch off in the evening before bed, then a vape of CBD oil may help you.

One study writes:

“In humans with insomnia, high doses of CBD (160 mg) increased sleep duration compared to placebo.43 Sedative effect was also observed in healthy volunteers with high CBD dose (600 mg)”

  • Boost your mood

Having low levels of the feel good hormone Serotonin can cause you to feel low, anxious and even depressed. CBD has been seen to encourage your body to use its own serotonin and enhance the levels to make you feel happier. If a low mood is getting you down, CBD vape oil could be an option.

While we are on the subject of what does CBD vape oil do, we should mention what CBD vape oil won’t do:

  • Get you high - there isn’t enough THC in it for this. Legally the limit of THC in a cannabinoid product is 0.2%, which is hardly anything and certainly not enough to make you feel intoxicated.
  • Make you hungry - THC gives you the munchies, not CBD

Does CBD vape work?

When you are looking at what does CBD vape do, you’ll want to know if it actually works. We know that research is ongoing into each condition, but the amount of evidence we hear from actual people is pretty incredible.

CBD vape can be taken daily, but you might need to find your sweet spot for the cannabinoid. Some people have a much higher or lower tolerance than others. When you are deciding which dose to take, start on the lower end and build up.

How long does vaping CBD take to have effects?

Vaping the cannabinoid is one of the most bioavialable ways to enjoy it. That basically means that it enters your bloodstream faster than edibles and capsules. When you vaporise the cannabinoid it enters your bloodstream through your lungs allowing it to quickly effect you.

  • What does CBD vape oil do when you take too much?

If you don’t feel anything from your dose instantly then don’t redose straight away. It can take a few hours to take full effect, even with bioavailable methods, such as vaping.

CBD is mostly well tolerated, even at high doses. However, if you take too high of a dose then you may find you feel sleepy. Other side effects of taking too much CBD could include:

  • Stomach upset
  • Headache
  • Fatigue

The best thing to do is start low, give it enough time to take effect, then decide if you need more for your next dose.
